Inspired by the SAINT JAMES crew, this Matelot jumper pays tribute to our maritime roots and craftsmanship. Based on the iconic Matelot design, it is made from virgin wool, knitted in a 1x1 rib in our Normandy workshops. The collar features buttons that recall its origin: the seaman's jumper. The sleeves showcase knitted elbow patches, encapsulating all the expertise of SAINT JAMES: a pattern directly knitted into the sleeve, crafted by our programmers and requiring the skill of our seamstresses for a perfect finish, inspired by the wool bobbins that are synonymous with SAINT JAMES. An iconic product, infused with craftsmanship, meaning, and a spirit of sharing.

To take care of your wool garments, here are a few recommendations:

Wash your garments only when necessary. Wool is naturally self-cleaning — often, simply airing it out is enough. Over-washing can damage the fibres and lead to premature wear.

When washing your wool garment, make sure to:
- Use a gentle or wool-specific detergent
- Avoid fabric softener
- Set your machine to a maximum of 30°C (20°C ideally), but never cold — wet wool felts more easily
- Use a low spin cycle: 400–600 rpm
- Avoid tumble-drying
- Dry flat, in a temperate, well-ventilated area
- Never soak the garmentA simple steam refresh is often enough for wool. If you do choose to iron it, select the wool setting and use a damp pressing cloth between the iron and the garment.
