Women's wool jumper : timeless warmth, season after season
A wool jumper makes a simple promise: keep you warm without compromising your style. Season after season, it earns its place in the rotation — never out of fashion, always right. Our selection brings together pieces built to last, in a material that only gets better with time.
Wool : a material that works for you
Wool naturally regulates body temperature. It keeps you warm in the cold without overheating when the weather can't make up its mind. It's an active fibre — nothing like the synthetic alternatives that try to imitate it without ever quite succeeding.
Our women's wool jumpers are knitted from yarns selected for their durability and softness. We favour honest compositions — virgin wool, merino wool — chosen for how well they hold their shape and how comfortable they feel to wear. No compromise on the material : it's what makes everything else possible.
From roll neck to V-neck : cuts for every shape
A roll neck for the coldest days, a crew neck for a more relaxed silhouette, a V-neck to elongate : each cut has its own logic. Our styles don't try to do everything at once. They do what they promise, and they do it well.
The wool sailor jumper : a founding piece
At Saint-James, the sailor jumper has a history. Originally designed for seafarers, it was built to withstand wind, cold and wear. Its thick wool, distinctive neckline and generous drape : nothing was left to chance. Worn in the city or by the water, it remains the piece around which everything else falls into place.
A wardrobe built to last
Fast fashion has normalised changing everything every year. A good merino or virgin wool jumper doesn't follow that rhythm. It holds its shape through the seasons, keeps its drape, ages well.
That's exactly what we set out to offer : pieces that make sense over the long term. A wool cardigan layered over a shirt, a classic jumper paired with jeans — these are combinations that never go out of style.
Our colourways — navy, ecru, tulip, sea foam — are designed to slot into an existing wardrobe without disrupting it.
Caring for wool : simpler than you think
Wool needs a little care, but nothing complicated. Machine wash at 20 to 30°C maximum — never cold, as wet wool felts more easily. Use a gentle detergent designed for wool, no fabric softener, and keep the spin cycle low : 400 to 600 rpm. No tumble dryer : lay flat to dry, in a well-ventilated room at room temperature, and it will return to its original shape.
For finishing, a light steam is usually all you need. If you do use an iron, set it to the wool setting and place a damp cloth between the iron and the garment. A small habit that protects the fibre for years to come.
