In 2026, the French Navy celebrates its 400 years, a unique commitment in the service of France since 1626.
Knitted in Roman stitch in 100% wool in our Ateliers in Saint-James, the Aconit Breton shirt is a heavier and warmer piece than more classic Breton shirt. It follows the Napoleon knit with its 21 stripes on the body and 14 stripes on the sleeves, a historical heritage of the French Breton shirt. Its red embroideries "MN" on the chest and "1626" at the bottom of the right sleeve, along with a small vent at the hem, complete this historical Breton shirt.
- Napoléon knitted Breton shirt
- Roma stitch
- "MN" on the left chest
- Round neck
- "MN" embroidery on the back neckline
- Long sleeves
- Straight fit
- 100% Cotton

To take care of your wool garments, here are a few recommendations:

Wash your garments only when necessary. Wool is naturally self-cleaning — often, simply airing it out is enough. Over-washing can damage the fibres and lead to premature wear.

When washing your wool garment, make sure to:
- Use a gentle or wool-specific detergent
- Avoid fabric softener
- Set your machine to a maximum of 30°C (20°C ideally), but never cold — wet wool felts more easily
- Use a low spin cycle: 400–600 rpm
- Avoid tumble-drying
- Dry flat, in a temperate, well-ventilated area
- Never soak the garmentA simple steam refresh is often enough for wool. If you do choose to iron it, select the wool setting and use a damp pressing cloth between the iron and the garment.
